Lifestyle Portraits

OUR APPROACH

Lifestyle portraits are a popular style of photography whereby your images are captured in a relaxed fun environment with less focus on posed impersonal portraits. Beautiful, fun and natural images are captured either at your home or on location using natural light, the end result is a timeless art piece or image series

Over and above the actual photographs that you’ll receive, all of our lifestyle portraiture sessions include the following:

  • Pre-session consultation to ensure that we know exactly what you would like out of the session and to confirm we can deliver this.
  • Booking confirmation by email or by post with confirmed times and dates
  • Lifestyle photography session lasting a minimum of 1 hour. Unlimited number of photographs taken on the shoot
  • Secure online personalized private password protected web gallery for viewing proof images and ordering prints (up to 250 images) for you to share with family/friends
  • One CD of all photographs from the day. Post-processed low resolution licence free files for e-mailing/personal use etc. One full set in colour and another in black & white

What do you need for a session?

For adult portraiture don’t allow your clothing to over power how you look. Wear simple comfortable clothes and colors that make you feel good. This will help you to relax and ultimately you will take a better picture. Plain tops. We have found that these work best, especially plain black or white as they give a nice clean crisp finish, however it is your photo session so the choice is yours.

When having a family portrait taken, it helps if each person is dressed in a similar way. Simple plain clothes pull the picture in together. This draws the eye to the faces and away from distracting colors or patterns. If you want your children to have different changes of clothing during the session have them handy.

When photographing babies and toddlers, timing is critical. Young babies are best photographed when they can sit up but before they can walk. The portrait session is best shot after they have had a nap and snack. This will leave them bright and happy. Pale colors and small patterns are best, as they don’t overpower the Childs face. You should dress your children in clothes that compliment their personalities.
