You may want a special photo taken of yourself, family or friend as a gift. We offer location based or studio portraiture services in Mt Maunganui and is available to take both individual and family portraits. The first consideration in creating a portrait is the theme and location of the shoot from casual to formal, outdoor, location or studio, this will set the style of image and allow some variety if required.

For a simple portrait required as a record photo or for publicity can involve a basic shoot lasting 20 minutes up to an hour. If you are looking for a personally commissioned collection then a longer session can be booked to allow a selection of locations and outfits for a more varied and informal collection of images.

Lifestyle portraits are a popular style of photography whereby your images are captured in a relaxed fun environment with less focus on posed portraits, which can be more stiff and impersonal.

How and when it all happens?

• Step 1 – We will have a consultation telephone call to make sure that we know exactly what you would like out of the session and that you are sure that we can deliver it.
• Step 2 – We will follow this with a booking confirmation by email or by post
• Step 3 – The session: Your photographs can be taken in our studio here in Mt Maunganui or by arrangement in the comfort of your own home or your chosen location where we can bring a backdrop kit and a lighting kit. The session lasts around 1-2 hours or as long as it takes. A relaxed approach designed to capture your energy, individuality and sense of fun. A professional makeup service can be arranged if required for a makeover shoot. We will book a time to meet and show you the photos.
• Step 4 – Images are placed on our website for you to view and select. We can return and show you the photos, the different frames and finishes that we can produce. You pick the pictures in a variety of sizes that you would like us to turn into the finished products. Payment in full is required.
• Step 5 – We will deliver the finished products.

What do you need for a session?

• For adult portraiture don’t allow your clothing to over power how you look. Wear simple comfortable clothes and colors that make you feel good. This will help you to relax and ultimately you will take a better picture.Plain tops – I have found that these work best, especially plain black or white as they give a nice clean crisp finish, however it is your photo session so the choice is yours.

• When having a family portrait taken, it helps if each person is dressed in a similar way. Simple plain clothes pull the picture in together. This draws the eye to the faces and away from distracting colors or patterns. If you want your children to have different changes of clothing during the session have them handy.

• When photographing babies and toddlers, timing is critical. Young babies are best photographed when they can sit up but before they can walk. The portrait session is best shot after they have had a nap and snack. This will leave them bright and happy. Pale colors and small patterns are best, as they don’t overpower the Childs face. You should dress your children in clothes that compliment their personalities.

We can provide modeling portfolios for the up and coming model to help them get started with their first portfolio or for the established professional.

Whether you require a Model Portfolio, Glamour Portrait/Glamour Makeover, an entry for a competition such as FHM Homegrown Honeys or just want to spoil yourself with some special images, it all starts with a studio sitting. The portfolio is designed to give you a set of fashion shots which will show you off at your very best, from full length to close-up shots.

You choose a selection of clothes with a style you feel will show off best and we will take a series of photographs with various expressions to give you plenty of choice. Be prepared to make a few changes of clothes and your hairstyle to create different looks. A professional makeup service can be arranged if required for a makeover shoot.
